About the PTA

Ever wonder what the PTA does behind the scenes? The Burr PTA is a partnership of parents, teachers, and staff working together to support our students and strengthen our school community. Classroom experiences, school traditions, family events, fundraising, and everyday communications are some of the main PTA responsibilities that help make Burr such a special school! The Burr PTA is organized into five main pillars:

1. ADMINISTRATION: Keeping everything running smoothly. This pillar supports the day-to-day operations of the PTA, as well as school-wide initiatives and volunteer coordination. Includes: Bylaws & waivers, classroom coordinators, Burr directory, picture day, teacher & staff appreciation and so much more!
2. COMMUNICATION: Keeping Burr families informed and connected. Communication helps make sure families know what’s happening, how to participate, and where to find the information they need throughout the year. Includes:
   Weekly Burr Buzz newsletter, social media platforms, Burr website and ongoing information distribution.
3. ENRICHMENT: Adding experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Enrichment brings additional educational, cultural, and community-building opportunities to our students throughout the school year. Includes: After the bell, author visits, art in the classroom, chess club, etc.
4. FUNDRAISING: Making the extras possible. Our fundraising efforts provide the financial support needed to fund PTA programs, activities, events, classroom support, and other enhancements for Burr students. Includes: Bear Necessities, Parent Social, Book Fairs, Spirit Wear and lots more!
5. SPIRIT: Bringing our Burr community together. Spirit is all about creating connection, building school pride, and giving students and families opportunities to have fun together and make memories. Includes: Family sporting events, field day, family picnic, school dance and so much more!

Every volunteer hour, event attended, fundraiser supported, and contribution made helps us provide more opportunities and experiences for Burr students. There’s a place for everyone in the PTA, whether you have an hour to give, an event you’d love to help with, or simply participate by showing up and joining the fun!
